In addition to my training as a mental health provider, I am a Level II Reiki practitioner.

There is increasing evidence that we store our emotional experience in our bodies. Consider how a period of high stress affects your physical being. Do you experience headaches? Back pain? Sleeplessness? Digestive issues? This is just the beginning of how our bodies keep track of our emotional life. Emotions may be stored in the body for years, gradually emerging as injury, pain or illness. Many therapeutic approaches support the process of liberating stored emotions from the body. Reiki offers one avenue toward a healthier mind and body.

Reiki is a Japanese art of healing that occurs with a light touch to encourage relaxation and healing. Reiki is a simple, safe and natural form of spiritual and energetic balancing that offers a unique alternative therapy to counter the effects of stress. On its own, or as an adjunct to psychotherapy, Reiki is a gentle approach to reducing anxiety, worry, stress and agitation.
